We spent several months this year hunting for thistle buttons, afterall we had to do something to entertain ourselves during ‘Droughtlander’. Our most fabulous finds was the sterling silver Art Nouveau thistle button featured in this piece. This button is hallmarked which means it has a stamp that certifies it’s purity and place of origin. This button was very valuable in its time and would have been sold as a set in a late nineteenth century jewelers shop or haberdashery.
In this piece:
- Hallmarked sterling silver Art Nouveau thistle button, circa 1900
- Hand-wrapped glass pearls
- Sterling silver chain
- Length is 16” with 4” extender
