Grandmother’s Buttons Wins Outstanding Visual Display Award
AmericasMart Atlanta recognized Grandmother’s Buttons’ booth at the recent International Gift and Home Furnishings Market July 10-14, awarding it the Outstanding Visual Display in its category, Handmade. Pictured here is the company’s visual team: Kara Breaux, visual coordinator and graphic designer, and Anna Davis, photographer. The two designed a trade show booth with a warm and tactile environment that wordlessly communicated the handmade and antique nature of the company’s jewelry.
“Kara and Anna had a vision for the booth: the faded elegance of an old parlor, accented with boxes and props from the owner’s long-closed button factory,” explains owner Susan Davis. “They spent days creating the perfect walls, painting and distressing foam core until it aged before your eyes.” Other touches included shelves made with stacks of button boxes from an actual old factory, and a gallery of black and white photographs set in an eclectic assortment of antique frames.
“We have long been known for our evocative booth displays,” says Davis. “Kara and Anna really knocked it out of the park this year, and it is so rewarding to see AmericasMart recognize that.”
