Silver Luster Glass
Product #: 01-09vault3
Collection: Vault Necklace
Glass button making was an extensively practiced cottage industry throughout Bohemia (today's Czech Republic) during the late 19th century. Gorgeous buttons such as this were pressed by hand in iron molds, which had been cut in intricate lacey patterns by skilled mold makers. The buttons were then ground smooth, polished and a silver or gold luster finish fired on. All in all, 14 hand-done steps were required to create buttons such as these. This lovely piece will be hung from the long short necklace pictured above. Measures 18 inches long, 10 inches short. A vault card will be enclosed containing your button description and authenticity.
